Researched and written by Pauline Martin.
Having seen a few of their names recorded on family memorials, it made me wonder just how many there actually are in Jesmond Old Cemetery. Many of the graves were hard to find, with names fading from the stones, and some were partially covered. These men gave their lives and I felt it important to remember and record their names. It has given me a deeper appreciation of their sacrifices. Over 70 names are recorded in addition to the 10 Commonwealth War Graves.
