Come along and join us on the dates below; meet canny people, do something healthy and contribute to something worthwhile.......champion!!

We meet at the South Lodge at 10:00 every first Saturday and third Sunday in each month; Easter and Christmas might alter things a little, but we will post an update should this be the case.
E-mail us at or ring us on 07936534084 for further information.

Whilst we welcome new volunteers to these events, we do ask that you contact us first, so that we can advise you of any health and safety requirements and to familiarise you with our arrangements.

The Friends of Jesmond Old Cemetery is open to everyone but we do ask that anyone under the age of 16 is accompanied by an adult. Additionally, due to the uneven nature of the Cemetery, not all areas are accessible to wheelchair users.

There are spaces for cars outside the Jesmond Road entrance to the Cemetery. Additionally, cars are also allowed to park just inside of this entrance but the ground is fairly soft and a bit muddy, so you may not want to park there if you want to keep your car clean!! Alternatively, you may want to park further down in the Cradlewell/Jesmond Dene area, just off to the left of the east bound carriageway of Jesmond Road and then walk back to the Cemetery.

All necessary gardening equipment is provided, including gloves. You can bring your own tools if you wish but no responsibility can be accepted should you break or misplace them.

We do occasionally arrange a 'litter pick' but it must be emphasised that no litter is to be picked up by hand. A cute device, known as a litter picker funnily enough, is provided for this purpose!!

Please be aware that, due to the nature of the Cemetery, the surface is somewhat uneven in places, including little pot holes, so stout boots or shoes are advised, as well as a degree of caution when walking about.

We have toilet facilities within our newly refurbished South Lodge and also provide hot and cold drinks to suit everyones taste - no alcohol though!!

Don't be put off coming along.... he wouldn't harm a fly!!
